My name is still not Darren Blake.
I have been on the internet for more than two decades, since back before the big Y2K scare, before the days of YouTube. It was the good old days of not telling people your real name and when Flash was the primary source of any kind of in-line video entertainment.
In short, I’m old. Let’s move on.
The point is, Darren Blake was the name I chose as my “real” name for when people insisted on knowing who “flickguy” was. It was a name I knew I would adopt as my pseudonym or stage name should I ever pursue that elusive writing or acting career I once thought I wanted.
Funny thing is, when real names became more of a thing online, I maintained my online identity. I do not misrepresent myself. I am very much myself when I am online, and I make it clear to the people I know online that the only thing fake about me is my name.,
That said, thank you for visiting my page. While I currently have only two books published, I do intend to publish more. I have written about a dozen books in my years of writing and 50,000 words or more on at least eight others. Most will never see the light of day, but I maintain hope that something will present itself as something I can put out there to further torture the world.
If you are here because you read one of my books, I’m so sorry to have put you through that. If you’re here because you know me and I mentioned my website… well, same thing, I guess.
This blog is where I work through some of my inner demons as a writer. It is where I reveal that oh-so-rare published book. And when the world is too much for my fragile psyche to handle, it is where I go to scream into the abyss.
Sometimes the abyss shouts back.
