Welcome to the blog for author Darren Blake. That’s me.
In the weeks / months / years (if I live that long) to follow, this will be the place where I post thoughts, loves, hates, and other things personal or hobbyist that are on my mind at a given moment. This is where I will announce new books. This is where I will talk about games I am playing. This is where I will talk about my process, if there is such a thing. Where I will vent my frustrations about the world around me. (Less political, more “I hate people” in nature.)
There is a writer by the name of Dean Wesley Smith, whose teachings I follow somewhat. He does this thing called “writing in public,” where he is very transparent about how much he writes on a given day and what else his day may have consisted of. He also says no one should do this.
I want to.
So this will be where I “write in public” and offer full disclosure on what I am writing and how much of it has been done. (Spoiler alert: So far, that number is ZERO since this blog began.)
Seeing Red came out September 1. It is my first self-published book. I owned this website about three weeks before that. Ran into some technical glitches that I wasn’t able to resolve until the week before Labor Day. That weekend was a gaming weekend (Gateway 2018 for the win!), so nothing got done on it. The following weekend I spent setting up the basic site. It’s still not done, but no one is visiting anyway, so who cares, right?
National Novel Writing Month is in November. I had planned to do a book before then, but I am not certain I have the drive to make it happen. If not, Comedy of Terrors will be written then instead.
And that is all I have for this particular entry. It isn’t much, but as I already said… no one is visiting, so who cares? Right?
Right.
